Drumroll Please...
Whew...I'm truly sorry this post took soooo long-it's been a hectic and busy afternoon and evening. The first pic is Baby BOY Whitsel's first (and last!) explicit picture... =)
Baby Boy is still sitting very low in my abdomen (not a bad thing though) but everything checked out normal. He's about 10 oz. and 14 cm long. Both Phil and I were amazed at what we could see: we saw the heart beating in the ribcage, the spine, ribs, fingers, toes, skull, ear, kidneys, the 4 chambers of the heart, and of course, his boy parts! We were pretty much speechless during the whole thing, but I did manage to get out more than "oh my gosh" unlike last time...
You can see the skull above as well as the hand...these are all pictures of pictures I took with the digital camera, but on our actual photo, you can see the bones in the fingers, an ear, and the facial silhouette. Amazing...
If you can make it out (and even if you can't)...this is his foot-right in the middle of the screen. Isn't it the most beautiful foot you've ever soon?!?!? I might be a little biased...
Well, the doctor's office was running 20 minutes behind for the ultrasound, and almost 45 minutes behind for my regular check up so that put our afternoon on hold for a while. All my regular stuff came back normal....pulse, blood pressure, pee tests...but we (doctors and I) are going to be watching my weight. I seem to have lost some weight. It's only 2 pounds, but that puts me down 5 pounds since my first appointment. The doctor reassured me that one of the tests they do every month would show any early warning signs that the baby isn't getting all the proper nutrients he needs, so I feel better about that. I had Phil as my witness and I told the doctor that I haven't denied myself ANYTHING as far as food goes...I am eating healthier than I ever have before, but I haven't been skimping on food at all. So we'll see next month at my next appointment. In the meantime, here are a couple pics of me at 19 weeks, which is just a week shy of 1/2 way (and almost 5 months)!!

On a side note...I somehow got poison ivy this past week-end on my upper arm...how's that for dumb luck! I'm hoping to keep it contained to the silver dollar size it currently is so here's hoping.
One last thing...Phil says feel free to purchase any UofM, Pistons, Tigers or Lions merchandise now that it's a boy. If you call and I don't answer, I'm probably busy maxing out the credit card at any of the baby stores within a 20 mile radius...so keep calling! =) Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers-we are blessed and thankful for having you in our lives!!
